Course goals:
Expanding neurosurgical fundamentals
Expanding the range of surgical procedures to include newer and more complex techniques
Understanding and performing nearly all spinal decompressive surgeries
Advanced spinal course (continuation of the basic neurosurgery course)
The seminar follows from the first spinal course, in which the basic principles of decompressive spinal surgery are explained. After relatively short interactive theoretical lectures, new decompression techniques are taught using films, demonstrations, and practical exercises.
Participants will explore a range of advanced procedures, including cervical facettectomy, thoracolumbar lateral corpectomy, and lumbosacral foraminotomy during the first two days. The third day stabilization techniques will be discussed and trained in the wetlab
