This course begins where basic and intermediate training ends. Over three intensive days,
a faculty of ECVIM-CA board-certified cardiologists will take you through the studies that
do not resolve themselves in ten minutes. You will learn to quantify mitral valve
regurgitation rather than estimate it, to assess diastolic function in the cat, and to
evaluate right heart size, function and pulmonary hypertension with the thresholds and
pitfalls that change your conclusions. You will sharpen your recognition of endocarditis,
myocarditis and arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy, and gain a clear
method for congenital disease — from septal defects and valve dysplasia to complex
malformations. A dedicated session on data management and reporting will help you turn
every study into a report your colleagues can act on. Hands-on sessions in small groups,
under direct supervision, let you translate each lecture into probe position, image
optimization and measurement.
