Dental Foundations – Interprofessional training

Date:            Wednesday 17th - Thursday 18th June (travel to Ireland 16th)

Location:      IM3 Training Centre Drogheda, Ireland.

Aim:
This is a two day in-person training session hosted at the IM3 Training centre in Ireland, led by highly experienced Linnaeus dentists and RVNs. Throughout the course we will explore how interprofessional teamwork can support the delivery of high-quality dental care (with an appreciation that this looks different across Europe due to national and local legislation).

There will be theory and practical sessions covering dental radiography from the basics through to advanced views and interpretation, local anaesthetic techniques and both closed and surgical extraction. We will also discuss common complications and how to handle them.

Hotel:
A room has been booked for you at for the nights of 16th and 17th June and further details will be shared closer to the time. Evening meals will need to be paid for by yourself and claimed back via expenses.

Travel:
Travel:
You will need to organise your own flights to Dublin airport (DUB), for the evening of 16th June.

A transfer bus is available for you and will collect you from Zone 16/Coach Park at 7pm on the 16th June. Please ensure the flights booked will allow you to get though the airport. You will be meet under the covered walk-way that leads to the coach parking area by a person holding a sign saying Linnaeus. If these timings do not work for you, you can also get a taxi but please let us know.

A transfer will take you back to Dublin airport on the Thursday 18th for 6pm – please arrange a flight home with enough time after this.

Please note:
By signing up the participant is agreeing not to exceed their locally or nationally defined scope of practice and  understand that this may be subject to regulation and enforcement.

Before signing up ensure that you have sign off from your line manager/ PM to attend. You will also be ask to provide a name of a Veterinary Surgeon within the practice that will support/supervise you to utilise and embed these new skills and knowledge into your daily practice.
