The programme is open for newly graduated veterinarians working in AniCura clinics across all our countries, offering the chance to share knowledge and experiences with veterinarians from all over Europe and build a new international network.

The groups is limited to 25 participants. Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to applicants who meet the requirements and in dialogue with country teams. Please note places cannot be guaranteed on the programme as country team approval is required.

Programme Overview

The AniCura Veterinary Graduate Programme (VGP) supports new graduates as they transition from university to clinical practice. Recognizing that success in veterinary medicine requires more than medical expertise, the VGP focuses on developing a wide range of clinical and non-clinical skills essential for long-term success and fulfillment.

The clinical skills programme focuses on primary and urgent care, using case-based learning to address common scenarios in daily practice, with clinical communication skills as a key component. The programme also helps graduates navigate the mental and emotional challenges of the profession by training focused on building well-being, resilience, and self-leadership skills.

The VGP includes interactive online webinars, self-study, and face-to-face workshops. Graduates are paired with an in-clinic mentor who provides guidance and support throughout the programme. Mentors receive training to ensure they have the skills and confidence to support their graduates effectively. For details on the mentor role and training, see the Mentor Requirements and Mentor Training subpages.

Attendance at all training events is mandatory for programme participants.
