Follow current COVID-19 health official recommendations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the OIE (World Organisation for Animal Health). Treat pets as you would other human family members during the current pandemic. Here are three simple guidelines:
- If you have COVID-19, try to limit or avoid contact with your pet.
- If your pet has been exposed to someone with COVID-19, keep it away from other people or animals.
- If your pet has been exposed to someone with COVID-19 and is sick, let your vet know.
Always follow good handwashing and hygiene practices, especially before and after interacting with pets.
