The World Antibiotics Awareness Week from November 13 to November 19, 2017, is a global initiative to raise awareness around antibiotics and its importance for future generations.
AniCura’s commitment to ensure a sound use of antibiotics in veterinary care and fight resistant bacteria is long-term and took its starting point with the launch of the company’s quality program, QualiCura, in 2015.
To date, AniCura has completed four European studies around the use of antibiotics in general as well as in connection to surgeries. The results from these studies are used as a basis to benchmark how antibiotics are used between clinics, establish best practice and implement guidelines to ensure better use of antibiotics and improved routines for hygiene.
- Resistant bacteria have increased dramatically the past decade and are spread between humans and animals.
