Medical decisions are often dependent on the results of laboratory analyses.
At many of AniCura's animal hospitals, registered biomedical analysts (BMA) are responsible for quality and efficiency in the laboratory. Advanced analytical instruments mean that most analyses required by the clinic veterinarian, can be carried out in the clinic's own laboratory. This means results are speedy and the veterinarian can lead continued diagnosis and treatment in the right direction. Some of AniCura's laboratories also produce and store their own blood product needed for vital blood transfusions.
Collaboration and Expertise within AniCura
AniCura's medical interest group for laboratory medicine arranges annual internal supplementary training for BMAs, veterinarians and veterinary nurses with an interest in laboratories and draws up quality-enhancing guidelines for AniCura's laboratories.
