Internal medicine includes many veterinary fields and is constantly developing.
The number of internal medicine patients who visit AniCura’s animal hospitals and clinics for examinations and treatment is growing. Internal medicine professionals often collaborate with specialists in related disciplines such as diagnostic imaging, neurology or clinical pathology. Advanced intensive care units with the means for additional monitoring, blood transfusions and oxygen supply are available at several of AniCura’s animal hospitals.
Collaboration and Expertise within AniCura
Because many experienced veterinarians and specialists including veterinarians with European specialist internal medicine qualifications (diplomates) work within AniCura, its animal hospitals and clinics are important referral bodies within internal medicine. The specialists also collaborate internationally and train future specialists.
Several of AniCura’s veterinary interest groups within e.g. gastroenterology and diabetes mellitus, proactively pursue knowledge transfer between AniCura’s animal hospitals and clinics. The network collaborates on specific cases and treatments and it discusses new research findings.
