This is the case discussion for Module 2 where fluid therapy and shock management will be approached from the vet perspective.
We hope you enjoy the session :-)
In the case discussions of Module 2, we look at three different cases and how to set up the right infusion management plan there. With the help of the 4-D's and the ROSE concept we will address the problems of the patients optimally and try to adjust possible problems with too much or too less fluids or with the wrong solution itself.

I studied in Giessen, Germany and Vienna, Austria and and wrote my doctoral thesis at the Justus Liebig University (JLU) in Giessen. I worked for many years at the Clinic for Small Animal Surgery of the JLU in the department of Anesthesiology and Pain Management, where I was most recently a senior physician in this department. After three years of international training, I also obtained the European Certificate of Advanced Studies CSAVP in Veterinary Medicine: Anaesthesia, Pain Management, Emergency and Critical Care (APMECC) from the University of Luxembourg. Since the beginning of the year, I am now part of the team at AniCura Ahlen. At the moment, I started the Postgraduate Program in Emergency and Critical Care Medicine via distance learning at the University of Melbourne. I’m a certified BLS and ALS RECOVER Rescuer as well. My passion lies in teaching and passing on knowledge to other veterinarians and veterinary nurses. I have been accepted into the Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists (AVA) and am a member of several international veterinary societies.
