WELCOME TO A COURSE IN PAIN MANAGEMENT!This two day course has been designed for veterinarians and nurseswanting to expand their knowledge in the pathophysiology of pain andget up-dated about pharmacological protocols and analgesic therapeutictechniques. The course is a mixture of formal teaching and practicalsessions.LECTURERTheoretical lectures as well as the many practical trainings are givenby experienced and knowledgeable:  VINCENZO RONDELLI, DVM, PhD and FRANCESCA ROMANO, DVM. TARGET GROUP OCH COURSE LANGUAGE The course is aimed for veterinarians and nurses wanting to expandtheir knowledge in the pathophysiology of pain and get up-dated aboutpharmacological protocols and analgesic therapeutic techniques. Course language is English.COURSE DESCRIPTIONDuring the course there will be formal teaching as well as practicaltrainings. During wet labs (with cadavers) the participants will trainand perform important loco-regional nerves blocks (head, thorax,abdomen, limbs). For some of the practical parts the courseparticipants will join the clinical activity of the IstitutoVeterinario di Novara, where pain (type and intensity) in patientswill be identified and the best analgesic protocol will be discussed.Emphasis will be on chronic and post-surgery pain.LEARNING OBJECTIVESAfter the course the participants will be able to:    •    Understand the physiology of pain    •    Recognise pain and its intensity    •    Apply the most adequate pharmacological protocolsfor pain therapy     •    Perform peripheral nerve blocks by administeringlocal anesthetics with blind and ultrasound guided techniquesPROGRAMMEFor the course programme, click the tab "Programme" to the right.COURSE FEEEUR 680 (excl VAT) incl. theoretical and practical lectures, digitalcourse material, lunches, coffees and a social event with dinner.Early bird fee EUR 578 (+ VAT) available when signing up before July15, 2019.
