LAB: IS THE DIAGNOSIS RIGHT - OR DID YOU HANDLE THE LAB SAMPLE WRONG?

Welcome to "Is the diagnosis right - or did you handle the lab sample wrong?"

Do you ever wonder if you can trust the test results?

Do you know...

  • How parameters like glucose and potassium change in a haemolysed or lipemic sample?
  • What happens when a sample is left on the table a little too long?
  • How using serum and plasma can result in different values

The most common and significant errors in the vet laboratory happen before the sample reaches the laboratory. Worst case these errors result in the wrong diagnosis and treatment of the patient.

This course is for you that want to learn how to avoid these errors - and know how to act WHEN they do.

What do you learn?

In this course you learn...

  • What the most common errors in the lab are
  • How the errors impact results, interpretation and diagnosis
  • Best practice to avoid errors

Who is it for?

  • Vets
  • Vet nurses
  • Practice managers

How to take the course

The course is taken online. This means you can access it whenever you want and where ever your are: From your computer, tablet or smartphone. You just need a stable internet connection.

You can take the course all in one go. It takes approximately 1,5 hours.

Or you can take the individual bite sized modules one at a time in your own pace (e.g. between patients).

It's all up to you!

Each module will have a short multiple choice quiz.

And last but not least cases gathered from real patients will get your grey brain cells even more activated.

We hope you enjoy the course!
