Welcome to an online course in ECG Essentials in Small Animal Practice!
Do you want to acquire a practical approach to electrocardiography (ECG)? In that case this course is for you!

This fully online course is aimed at veterinarians wanting to acquire knowledge on the use of ECG in the clinical practice of dogs and cats, from the technique of positioning and recording to the diagnostic interpretation and treatment of the most common arrhythmias.

Under application for accreditation for German ATF points.

The course language is English.

LECTURERS
Oriol Domenech DVM, MS, Dipl. ECVIM-CA (Cardiology), Chief of the Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology Department at the Istituto Veterinario di Novara, Italy

Tommaso Vezzosi DVM, PhD, Resident ECVIM-CA (Cardiology) at the Istituto Veterinario di Novara and University of Pisa

COURSE DESCRIPTION
The aim of this course is to provide practical knowledge on the use of ECG in small animal practice. The target group is veterinarians with basic knowledge of ECG interpretation working in different fields of small animal medicine as many arrhythmias occur in non-cardiac patients. It is also aimed at cardiologists who would like to improve their ECG knowledge.

Through a series of seven interactive live webinars the course will go through ECG technique and the diagnosis and treatment of the most common arrythmias in small animal practice. This course has a practical session interpreting ECG tracings from clinical cases. Participants then have the chance to practice ECG interpretation, learn how to write an ECG report and discuss the therapeutical aspects of arrythmias.

The course can be followed using a smartphone, tablett or computer.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After the course the participants will be able to:

  • Diagnose the most common arrhythmias of dogs and cats
  • Interpret ECG tracings with a systematic approach using a practical and easy algorithm
  • Make decisions regarding treatment of the most common arrhythmias
